Money management for celebrating the big day

When it comes to plan for the big day, we generally tend to go lenient on our finances. Most of us want to celebrate our marriage in an extravagant way, but we do not realize the repercussion of becoming a spendthrift in celebrating our marriage. This may affect our financial life post marriage. To overcome this issue, we may emphasize on money management.

Here are some saving tips which you may follow while planning for your marriage:

  • Do some research: Prior to marriage do some research regarding how much expense is to be borne by you? This may help you to know the tentative overall cost of the marriage. Then you may arrange for the funds accordingly.
  • Don’t be too extravagant: Try to spend keeping in mind your income level and ability to pay the credit, if any. Do not make your marriage over budgeted, as it may adversely affect your finances at the later stage of your married life.
  • Place your orders as early as possible: Try to book the orders as early as possible. This will help you to choose between the most economical alternatives. Hiring vendors at the later stage may cost you more; it leaves you with fewer alternatives.
  • Talk with your partner: It is advisable to have a discussion with you partner as regards to which areas are the most important and in which areas money can be saved in celebrating the big day. This will help you to  save a little more.

It is interesting that budgeting your financials is easier than most think. I love coupons, but not showing them at the store.
