Manage your Personal Finance - “The Soccer Way”!!!

(I was in the middle of a traffic jam.)

Oh gosh! What to do now as I was invited for soccer match by my friend, Nike.I had to reach the stadium by 2 pm. But I was finding it hard to drive as the vehicles were jostling hard to get ahead. As I looked into my watch it was already 2.45 pm and I was cursing the situation badly.

Anyhow I reached the stadium by 3.15 pm. I parked the car hastily and went inside the stadium. The match was about to end.

Nike (captain) whispers something to his team members in the last 10 minutes of the soccer match. The score was 2-2 each and there was chaos in the crowd. Everybody in the crowd was biting their nails as Joe (central defender) passes the football ball to Nike. It were the last two minutes, and Nike passes the ball to victor (center forward). The whole experience was breathtaking and with a deep breath victor took the last shot …

Bingo, it was right in the goal post!There was excitement and feeling of pride in the players as well as the crowd. People were delighted and satisfied with their performance.

After the match, Victor took the whole team to a bar and said “the beers are on me”. Even I was invited to the lovely feast.

(The drinks were served and the team members were enjoying every sip of the beer. Soon all the players were in tipsy mood. A conversation started between me and my friend Nike)

I (taking the first sip of my chilled beer): Why did not you take the last shot Nike as you were also near the goal post?

Nike (smiling): It’s not about me, it’s about my team, and each member is as important as me. And above all it’s about proper team management.I should be competent, good coordinator and a motivator to manage my team.And it’s not only in this game. Proper management is important in every aspect of life.That’s what required for winning any match.You tell me, what is going on in your life? How is everybody at home?

I (little upset): Not so good.

Nike (anxiously): What happened? Is everything alright?

I: As you know my father has retired and all the financial responsibilities are on my shoulders. Money was needed desperately for my sister’s marriage, house is to be renovated and much more. I am totally goofed up with the financial urgency.And also I lost my lawn tennis match lately.

Nike: Lost the match! Are you gone nuts. Dude you are the champion.
May be you are getting jittery with your financial condition.

I: Ya, may be. It’s not like that I am getting low income, but clueless where the money is going!? I really do not know How to deal with the Tangles finances.

Nike: Managing your funds is just like a soccer match.

I: Managing your funds is just like a soccer match. Have you gone nuts?

Nike: Yes it’s true. In soccer you need to concentrate on five factors: Team work, Goal target, proper planning, and patience.

I (inquisitively): Please elaborate more on the above factors. How do they relate to fund management.

Nike: Let me start with the first factor. Team work acts as a spinal chord for winning the soccer match. Similarly, every member of the family from a kid to the grandparents should act as a team in handling the finances. There should be financial meetings on regular intervals.

Goal target: Every player should concentrate on the bull’s eye as to hit the football into the goal post with a higher success rate. Like wise all the vital financial areas are to be concentrated by the family members. This will help in eliminating the missing financial links.

Proper planning: There should be planning to allocate the specific position to the specified designated player. In its absence, one can not win the game.Also for dealing with the finances, the family should look for various alternatives necessary for handling the finances. The best financial alternative should be selected and implemented based upon the required need of the family.

Patience: This is the most important factor which every player has to be kept in his mind while playing the game. They should not get panic if the other team is leading. Rather the team should be patience and deal with acumen.Similarly, money management requires patience by each family member. You should not loose your patience level and end up in frequent financial disputes.This way one can handle the finances efficiently.

I (excited): Wow! What a beautiful source of managing your finances. That was really great dude.

Nike: Thank you my dear and just promise to me that you will not loose any lawn tennis match.

I (laughing): Sure Bro, you can count on me. I raise the beer jug and said cheers for your victory, Nike!

Nike (smiling): Cheers to your financial happiness!
